Find me a bride, a knife and three cups of jasmine tea

...so I can dig my grave and rest in peace.

Had to post this. Not for anyone in particular. Felt its too beautiful to be hidden as a comment. Thanks A.

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from
where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or
pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

that this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Good girl

I will be a good girl.
I will wash the dirt off your hands.
I will stand inside your heart.
I will make little lilac circles and hold them high.
I will sing you a lullaby, put you to sleep and then listen to you breathe.
I will kiss your forehead and tell you how pretty you are.
I will grow a plant and tell her how much I love you.
I will look into your eyes and warm your soul.
I will swim in the waters of your everlasting gaze.
I will be a good girl, I promise.

poo protesters?

Police in Germany are hunting pranksters who have been sticking miniature US flags into piles of dog poo in public parks.
Josef Oettl, parks administrator for Bayreuth, said: "This has been going on for about a year now, and there must be 2,000 to 3,000 piles of excrement that have been claimed during that time."
The series of incidents was originally thought to be some sort of protest against the US-led invasion of Iraq.
And then when it continued it was thought to be a protest against President George W. Bush's campaign for
re-election.
But it is still going on and the police say they are completely baffled as to who is to blame.
"We have sent out extra patrols to try to catch whoever is doing this in the act," said police spokesman Reiner Kuechler.
"But frankly, we don't know what we would do if we caught them red handed."
Legal experts say there is no law against using faeces as a flag stand and the federal constitution is vague on the issue.

Hope

Brothers words on an orphanage he just completed. I think I want to be an architect. Look at the scale and look at what I am doing. Selling pasta and designing restaurant menus :(

Hope looks good (could be better), but I feel some satisfaction. Suni was with me when we fixed on the colors and that is really adding to the building’s aesthetic pluses. The event yesterday was really something. I got a shawl put on my shoulders by the main donor in true tamilian style. The family and the church members all loved the building and appreciated its careful modulations with respect to climate and cost. I am feeling very proud right now. It was good to see so many people in MY building yesterday (using the loo, turning on the fans, opening the windows, climbing the stairs...etc.) A unique sensation.

The break of dawn

before the break of dawn,

standing alone on a field, war torn war torn.

KC

Nick B makes documentaries. I went out to the DVD store and bought "Kurt and Courtney" (Who killed Kurt Cobain - the conspiracy theories). Very interesting. The whole thing had a brilliant ambient vibe and very haunting too. Nick managed to interview an interesting set of rare-finds from Cobains best friend, a guy called Dylan who has a band called Earth, to El Duce, the guy who was offered 50grand to whack Cobain. Pretty simply brilliant. Go see it. Will open a little can of worms in the little seaside suicide fairytale we have all lived to believe.

Fate has a cruel, cruel sense of humour

CHARDON, Ohio (AP) - A 17-year-old Amish boy was electrocuted trying to remove a power line that got tangled in his horse-drawn buggy's wheels, authorities said. The boy drove over a power line Tuesday that had sagged down within a foot of the road after separating from a pole, authorities said. The line got stuck in the wheels and stopped the buggy. The boy got out and grabbed the 4,800-volt line in an attempt to remove it from the wheels, the Geauga County Sheriff's office said. He died at the scene. The boy's name was not released because his family had not all been notified, officials said.

The Amish are a deeply religious group who shun modern conveniences such as electricity, telephones and car ownership. About 40,000 Amish live in Ohio, the most of any state.

The boy was traveling south on a road near Geauga-Trumbull County line in northeast Ohio, about 25 miles east of Cleveland.

The horse pulling the buggy was not injured.

How much more?

How much more of this f***ed up life do we have to take? Sick of peoples accusations. Sick of people talking loudly about fashion and shopping when there are over 150,000 people dead. I know I havent been an innocent civilian but I am not selfish and I am not insensitive. Walk all over me. Its time for the big burial. I know a place where theres sand and a 6 feet patch. Go on, then, make me an island.

Its her!

Deep down in the depths of forgotten dreams
So far away so long ago it seems
The memory comes of a distant beach
Pale sand stretching far from reach
It was then I found my princess of the sand.

As I traced the foam, peebles beneath my feet
I looked behind, I saw this one so sweet
She came to me and I saw in her eyes
The heavy toll of a thousand eyes
I called her my princess of the sand.

She stared at me and my mind was in a maze
As we moved along in a summer sea-dream haze
She moved her mouth but there came no sound
The message she brought can never be found
But I called her my princess of the sand.

One moment we walked with the night breeze in our face
Then I looked, she'd gone. of her presence there was no trace
Where she went or came from who can know
Or if she'll ever return to help me know
Who she is, my princess of the sand.

Sometime when the summer nights come back
I'll go back to the sea, follow that sandy track
I'll look around, hope to find
That strange young dream, close behind
I'll call her my princess of the sand

diapers

Selling diapers is sometimes fun. I entered my car with three big bags of Pampers. I walked down the street and knocked every door. Few people let me in. It must have been my kind face but many mothers allowed me to do a test on their babies. It was fun. I felt pretty popular in this little town of utopia. :)

The new humanist

Me, then.

You are one of life’s enjoyers, determined to get the most you can out of your brief spell on Earth. Probably what first attracted you to atheism was the prospect of liberation from the Ten Commandments, few of which are compatible with a life of pleasure. You play hard and work quite hard, have a strong sense of loyalty and a relaxed but consistent approach to your philosophy.

You can’t see the point of abstract principles and probably wouldn’t lay down your life for a concept though you might for a friend. Something of a champagne humanist, you admire George Bernard Shaw for his cheerful agnosticism and pursuit of sensual rewards and your Hollywood hero is Marlon Brando, who was beautiful, irascible and aimed for goodness in his own tortured way.

Sometimes you might be tempted to allow your own pleasures to take precedence over your ethics. But everyone is striving for that elusive balance between the good and the happy life. You’d probably open another bottle and say there’s no contest.

Prettiest thing of the new year

What was the high-point of the new year? All you bollywood-haters will hate me for saying this, but yes it was "Swades". I watched it with my parents. I had tears in my eyes throughout the film. Man. Made me think of many things. Reality check extraordinaire. I was left speechless and touched. I used to hate Shah Rukh but his performance in Swades is, for lack of better words, just amazing. It was about 3 hrs plus but I wasnt bored, not even for a single second. Gayatri Joshi is so pretty. Ma, find me someone like her. Go see it if you are not prejudiced and have an open mind. Get over your little hangups, now, and give me a hug. Quick. :)
