A word and a star

Give me a knife and some cloth,
So I can plant a tree with my blood.
Give me a song and a shore,
So I can hum a tune and roll in mud.
Give me a bell and a boat,
So I can follow the sign and colour the air.
Give me a torch and a mine,
So I can lie inside and show you how much I care.

Let me die a young man's death

Let me die a young man's death,
not a clean and in between
the sheets holywater death,
not a famous-last-words
peaceful out of breath death.

When I'm 73
and in constant good tumour
may I be mown down at dawn
by a bright red sports car
on my way home
from an allnight party.

Or when I'm 91
with silver hair
and sitting in a barber's chair,
may rival gangsters
with hamfisted tommyguns burst in
and give me a short back and insides.

Or when I'm 104
and banned from the Cavern
may my mistress
catching me in bed with her daughter
and fearing for her son
cut me up into little pieces
and throw away every piece but one.

Let me die a youngman's death,
not a free from sin tiptoe in
candle wax and waning death,
not a curtains drawn by angels borne
'what a nice way to go' death.

Shadowboxers

So, I had the screening of my film to friends and some people from work. Went very well. A great night with lots of alcohol and a lovely projector thanks to Nico. Here is a set of photos of the cast and me doing the arty bit. More photos soon.

Last rights

Sky-blue, glue tortured death leather cut-hand, chinese symbol, black, in a torrential rain, jigsaw odd-piece out, in a frenzy shower of pale cotton and mah jongg washes, a current sound, claps, the acoustic guitar in a brazilian field, open, night, the tribal drums kicking in, the voices going off (inside my head) outside, chromatic, treble trouble. Shout, its over.

Gonzales

"16 piano themes for left hand accompaniment and right hand melody. Although they say the piano can create the most colors of any instrument, it is actually black and white, much like an old silent movie. Staring down at my hands, I imagine each piano piece as a shadow against the wall."

From the liner notes of Gonzales "Solo Piano". Beautiful and haunting solo piano pieces made for a grey drizzly Sunday afternoon in the woods. :)

Seaside

Delete sustenance,
Stand on one side,
Corner your friends,
Open the switch,
Let the sound absorb you,
Let choice suffocate you,
Make a plan, make a diagram,
Eat the knife, make the cut.
Go deep, see red, stain your hands.

From this moment on you are an enemy.
Let death kill you.
